Fishing

With numerous rivers and reservoirs, the Brecon Beacons is fishing heaven.

Close to the self-catering property, Talybont Reservoir is a wilderness fishery, with native fish and brown trout. The Monmouthshire Canal has bream, roach, perch, dace and chub and is ideal for younger visitors, especially those who are beginners. Licenses are required and can be bought from a ticket machine at the Reservoir or from the village shop.

Slightly further afield, you can fish for rainbow trout at Cantref Reservoir, try Llangorse Lake for pike or some of the many carp pools and lakes.

The River Wye offers fantastic fishing with barbel, chub and grayling, while the River Usk has wild trout and magnificent salmon.
